Overview
The STI-9730-BK is a cable protection guard designed to shield wiring from accidental cuts, abrasions, and mechanical stress during security system installations. This black wire guard fits over exposed cable runs and conduit where foot traffic, equipment movement, or environmental contact could damage critical signal or power lines. Common deployment: protecting access control wiring, bell wire, or sensor cables routed through high-traffic areas, mechanical rooms, or temporary construction zones. The guard prevents single-point failures caused by crushed or severed runs.

Works with standard cable routing practices across access control, fire alarm, door strike, and sensor system installations. Suitable for both temporary protection during system commissioning and permanent installation in areas where cables cross walkways or are exposed to impact risk. Installation Notes
Mounting requires 6 anchor points drilled to 1/4-inch diameter, 1-1/2 inches deep. Position the guard over the cable run, mark all 6 holes with pencil, drill at marked locations, insert the supplied #10 anchors, and secure with the included #10 × 1-1/2 inch Phillips pan-head screws. Tighten firmly but do not over-torque anchors in drywall or composite surfaces. Overall dimensions: 16.57 inches wide × 14.47 inches deep × 12.41 inches height. Approximate clearance required for cable routing: 12.17 inches × 16.25 inches opening. Suitable for indoor and outdoor installations where UV degradation is not a concern (black finish is not UV-stabilized for long-term direct sun exposure).
