Overview
The STI-9730 is a 16.57 × 12.41 inch (421 × 315 mm) protective cage designed to shield lock and strike assemblies from accidental contact, tool damage, or intentional interference during installation and operation. Deploy this where door hardware is exposed to high foot traffic, construction activity, or repeated physical contact—a common risk in retrofit scenarios and multi-tenant facilities. The cage mounts via six-point anchor fixation to provide rigid, non-removable protection without interfering with door operation or access control wiring.
Compatibility
The STI-9730 is a universal wire guard compatible with standard electric strikes, magnetic locks, and wiring bundles in any door access control installation. It accommodates typical lock and strike hardware footprints and does not restrict RF reader range or credential presentation areas. Installation does not require modification to existing access control panels, readers, or power supplies—it is a purely mechanical overlay.
Installation Notes
Mount using the six 1/4-inch diameter anchors (provided) and 1/4 × 1.5 inch Phillips pan-head screws (included). Center the cage over the protected device, mark all six holes with a pencil, drill 1/4-inch holes 1.5 inches deep, insert anchors, position the cage, and tighten screws. Mounting surface must be solid wood, metal frame, or concrete—hollow drywall without backing will not support the anchor load. The cage interior dimensions are 12.17 × 14.47 inches (309 × 367 mm), providing clearance for most strike assemblies and associated wiring. Verify strike throw clearance and reader position before permanent installation.
