Overview

The SS2448EX-EN is a push button station for door-release circuits in magnetic lock systems. It operates at 30VDC and mounts with a universal stopper cover that accommodates both flush and surface installation profiles. Use this when you need a straightforward, NEMA Type 23–rated button interface between an access control panel and a magnetic strike on a single door or access point.

Compatibility

The SS2448EX-EN integrates with any 30VDC magnetic lock strike and standard access control panel output. The universal cover design works with the supplied mounting plate (KIT-102720, 12mm worldwide standard) and optional extended-depth back boxes (KIT-71100A or KIT-71101B) for different wall thicknesses and recess depths. Compatible with Stopper® series button families across surface-mount and flush-mount configurations. Consult mounting documentation for existing door frame retrofits or non-standard cavities.

Installation Notes

Standard installation requires 3/16 in. diameter drill holes and a mounting depth of approximately 1.25 in. when anchors are not used. The 12mm worldwide mounting plate (KIT-102720) ships standard; no additional spacer is needed for surface-mount configurations on compatible models. Surface-mount buttons use KIT-71100A as an alternative if the standard plate does not fit your cavity. Extended-depth models require KIT-71101B plus the 12mm spacer for proper alignment. Ensure 30VDC supply voltage is stable and protected by appropriate circuit breakers or relay logic in your access control panel.
