Overview
The STI STI-SA5500-W is a dedicated siren and strobe notification controller for access control and alarm systems requiring audible and visual alerts. It delivers 32 user-selectable siren tones at either 100 dB or 85 dB output, with independent strobe and siren timing (15, 30, 60 seconds, or continuous). Operates at 9VDC with external 12–24V support, making it suitable for cabinet alerts, door alerts, burglar notifications, and third-party system integration.
Compatibility
The STI-SA5500-W integrates into access control systems via its dry contact relay output (Form C, N.C. 12VDC, 50mA). Compatible with HID and NFC/13.56MHz proximity reader infrastructure. The controller pairs with security panels and alarm systems that accept relay-based notification signals—no proprietary protocol required. Mounting options support both indoor wall installation and climate-controlled outdoor enclosures. Operating temperature range 32°F to 120°F limits use to air-conditioned or heated environments; humidity and temperature extremes above this range will shorten component life.
Installation Notes
The unit includes a tamper switch (N.C. 12VDC, 50mA dry contact) that triggers an alert when the controller is removed from the wall—essential for theft deterrence in unsupervised spaces. Polycarbonate housing with 10 high-intensity LEDs is durable but not impact-rated for harsh industrial use. Requires 9VDC battery power (not included) or an external 12–24V DC supply. The dry contact relay simplifies wiring to third-party panels—no handshaking or programming overhead. Low battery indicator provides advance warning before power loss.
