Overview
The STI-SA5500-C is a dedicated siren and strobe controller purpose-built for access control and security alert integration. It centralizes audible and visual notification across multi-door installations without requiring a separate alert server. The controller drives both siren and strobe independently—critical when you need a visual-only alert in a noisy environment or vice versa. This unit solves the problem of coordinating alert timing across distributed entry points, particularly in retail, warehouse, and commercial facilities where door events (tamper, unauthorized access attempt, or manual trigger) must propagate a consistent response.
Compatibility
The STI-SA5500-C integrates with access control platforms that support relay-triggered or networked alert signaling. It operates as a controller node—compatible with systems requiring Form C dry relay contact output and supporting both TCP/IP and RS-232 serial communication. Verify your access control system's alert output specification (typically 12VDC or 24VDC dry contact) before installation; the SA5500-C accepts external power in that range and can trigger standard strobe/siren pairs rated for those voltages. Works with HID credential systems and other platforms offering HTTP or serial API integration for event-driven alerts.
Installation Notes
Operates from 9VDC battery (not included) or external 12–24VDC supply. The controller includes a tamper switch (N.C. contact, 12VDC, 50mA) that triggers an alert when the unit is removed from its wall mount—standard for cabinet and door-alert deployments to prevent circumvention. Operating temperature range is 32°F to 120°F; do not install in outdoor unheated enclosures below freezing without protection. Mount using the supplied hardware; ensure relay wiring uses appropriate gauge for siren/strobe load (typically 18–16 AWG for 24VDC siren circuits under 2A). Test tamper and relay continuity before final deployment.
