Overview
The STI-SA5500-A is a dedicated siren and strobe controller for centralizing audible and visual alerts across multi-door access control installations. It manages independent timing of siren and strobe outputs — critical when you need synchronized notification across entry points without running separate alert circuits to each door. Operating on 9VDC power, the unit supports 32 user-selectable alert tones (100dB or 85dB) and includes a tamper switch (N.C. 12VDC, 50mA dry contact output) to trigger an alert when physically removed from the wall. Indoor-rated, -32°F to 120°F operating range suits standard commercial environments.
Compatibility
The STI-SA5500-A integrates into security systems that require centralized audible/visual notification control. It provides a Form C dry relay contact output for wiring into existing access control panels, door controllers, or alarm signaling circuits. Verify your installation has 9VDC power availability and that your control panel supports dry contact trigger inputs. This is a standalone controller — not a panel replacement — so it pairs with existing door locks, readers, and access logic as an alert aggregation point.
Installation Notes
Mount the unit on an interior wall using the included mounting bracket. The dry contact output requires connection to your access control system's alert input (terminal block wiring). Polycarbonate housing resists impact but is not rated for outdoor weather or submersion — ceiling or interior wall installation only. Power the unit via 9VDC external supply (not included) or optional 12–24V external source. Strobe and siren timing (15, 30, 60 seconds, or continuous) are independently selectable via internal switches — set these before installation to avoid repeated wall removal. The low-battery indicator signals when backup 9VDC power is depleted.
