The STI-SA5000-W is a compact, wall-mounted mini controller designed for small access control deployments where you need basic credential authentication and strike control without networked complexity. It manages up to 32 user profiles and outputs a single dry contact relay (Form C) to trigger electromagnetic strikes or alert devices. Operating on 9VDC (battery) or 12–24VDC (external power), the unit includes a tamper switch that triggers an alert if removed from the wall — useful for indoor access points where tampering is a concern. The polycarbonate housing and straightforward wiring make it a fit for retrofit installations in tight spaces.

Compatibility

The STI-SA5000-W pairs with standard proximity readers and electromagnetic strike hardware via its single dry contact relay output (12VDC, 50mA rating). The controller supports HID and NFC/13.56MHz credential types, so it works with common card and fob readers in the field. Confirm your strike voltage and current draw against the 50mA relay limit — higher-draw strikes require an external relay or power amplifier. This is a standalone controller; it does not integrate with networked access control platforms or VMS systems.

Installation Notes

Mount on an interior wall away from moisture and direct sunlight. Operating temperature range is 32°F to 120°F — avoid damp basements or uninsulated garages at temperature extremes. The tamper contact (N.C., 12VDC, 50mA) requires wiring to an external alert output or monitoring system if you want to capture tampering events. Power consumption is minimal on 9VDC battery mode, but verify battery life against your duty cycle (siren/strobe activation drains reserves quickly). Wiring is bare terminal-block style — keep runs short and use rated cable to minimize voltage drop over distance.
