STI STI-HTR150T Radiant Heater with Thermostat
Overview
The STI-HTR150T is a 150W radiant heating module with integrated thermostat control, purpose-built to prevent frost-induced lock and strike failures in outdoor access control installations. Operates on 9VDC, the standard supply voltage in low-voltage security systems. The thermostat automatically cycles heating to maintain equipment enclosure temperature within operating range—critical for door strikes, electronic locks, and control panel assemblies deployed in sub-freezing environments where mechanical binding and solenoid stiction are failure modes.
Compatibility
The STI-HTR150T integrates into standard DIN-rail cabinets, electrical enclosures, and surface-mounted control panels used in access control infrastructure. 9VDC input allows direct wiring to security system power supplies without voltage conversion. Compatible with strike systems, electronic lock controllers, and any access control assembly requiring supplemental heating. The compact form factor fits within cabinet depths as small as 2–3 inches, minimizing retrofit space constraints.
Installation Notes
Mount the heater module inside the target enclosure or panel, positioning it to allow convective heat circulation. Drill a 7mm hole for thermostat sensor placement—install the sensor probe to sense enclosure air temperature, not radiant heat directly from the element. Connect the positive and negative 9VDC leads to the security system power supply. The integrated thermostat requires no external setup; it engages heating when enclosure temperature drops below threshold and cycles off when threshold is reached. Verify that the enclosure allows adequate ventilation around the heating element to prevent thermal buildup. Do not mount directly against circuit boards or sensitive electronics—use spacing or ducting to distribute heat evenly.
