STI STI-HTR100T Radiant Heater with Thermostat
Overview
The STI-HTR100T is a 100W radiant heater with integrated thermostat, purpose-built for electric strike and access control installations in temperature-sensitive environments. Cold weather causes lock mechanisms to slow or bind — this heater maintains strike performance year-round by keeping the mechanism at an optimal operating temperature. Deploy this when your electric strikes experience sluggish solenoid response in freezing conditions or when strikes are mounted in unheated vestibules, loading dock entrances, or outdoor access gates.
Compatibility
The STI-HTR100T integrates with STI electric strikes and access control systems. Operates at 9VDC, making it compatible with standard 12VDC and 24VDC control power supplies when paired with appropriate step-down conditioning. Suitable for retrofit onto existing strike installations and new deployments where thermal management is critical to solenoid reliability.
Installation Notes
Mount the heater assembly directly to or near the strike housing to ensure radiant warmth reaches the solenoid and latch mechanism. Secure wiring to the 9VDC supply using the provided cable entry points. The integrated thermostat automatically cycles heating on and off, preventing thermal overshoot that can degrade solenoid coils. Verify that the power supply can sustain 100W continuous draw without voltage sag — undersized supplies will cause the thermostat to cycle excessively and reduce strike response speed. Position the heater to avoid direct rain exposure; if mounting in fully outdoor or high-humidity environments, use a weatherproof enclosure rated IP54 or higher.
