Overview
The STI-7511E is a clear polycarbonate protective enclosure designed as an open back box for flush-mounted access control strike mechanisms and annunciators. The unit installs over already-mounted hardware, eliminating the need to remove or reinstall protected devices. This design solves the typical integration problem: you need vandalism protection for a strike or fire alarm panel without the cost or complexity of ripping out existing installations.
The polycarbonate construction is the same material used in football helmets — tough enough to resist accidental impact and intentional tampering while maintaining full visibility of the device inside from any angle. UV-stabilized material resists yellowing and brittleness in outdoor or high-sunlight indoor locations (typical working range −40°F to 250°F / −40°C to 121°C).
Compatibility
The STI-7511E open back box works with flush-mounted strike assemblies, remote annunciators, fire alarm control panels, and other electronic hardware that require protective housing but cannot be relocated. Installation mounts flush to a wall using external mounting tabs and tamperproof screws. The unit is available with either a key lock (STI-7520OB) or thumb lock (STI-7521OB) configuration — confirm which variant matches your access control workflow before ordering. The open back design accommodates existing wiring and conduit without modification.
Installation Notes
Mount using the supplied external mounting tabs and tamperproof screws. The open back allows conduit and electrical feeds to run behind the enclosure without obstruction. An additional eyelet is provided for a secondary padlock or safety seal if dual-lock security is required. Typical installation takes under 15 minutes on a pre-mounted device. Ensure the protected device fits within the interior dimensions of the selected cabinet variant before installation.
