STI STI-7511C Polycarbonate Enclosure with Open Back Box
Overview
The STI-7511C is a clear polycarbonate protective enclosure designed for flush mount installation over pre-mounted access control hardware. The open back box design accommodates field wiring and strike mechanisms without requiring removal or repositioning of existing door-mounted devices. UV-stabilized polycarbonate construction resists yellowing and maintains visibility at any angle, allowing operators and inspectors to see the protected device without opening the cover. This configuration solves the common retrofit scenario where you need protective housing over an already-installed reader, annunciator, or control panel without full cabinet replacement.
Compatibility
The STI-7511C pairs with the STI-7520OB (key lock) and STI-7521OB (thumb lock) protective cabinet models. Both variants feature identical open back box construction and mounting footprint, differing only in lock mechanism. Compatible with remote fire alarm annunciators, access control readers, and electronic door strike panels mounted to standard door frames. Field wiring passes through the open rear, eliminating the need to reroute conduit or disconnect existing connections during installation. Mounting tabs enable wall-mounted positioning, and tamperproof mounting screws prevent unauthorized hardware removal.
Installation Notes
Mount using the included hardware and tamperproof screws. The enclosure operates across -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 121°C), supporting both interior and unheated exterior installations. An additional eyelet allows a secondary padlock or safety seal for dual-lock compliance in high-security or audited environments. Clear sightlines at any angle support emergency personnel recognition and operator visual inspection without opening the unit.
