STI EP181604-T Polycarbonate Low-Profile Enclosure
Overview
The EP181604-T is a non-metallic polycarbonate enclosure designed to house access control panels, annunciators, and electronic equipment in demanding indoor and outdoor environments. The 18" × 16" low-profile form factor (with soft rounded edges) mounts flush against walls and fits into tight equipment closets where height or depth are constrained. Polycarbonate construction resists vandalism — accidental impacts won't shatter the housing — while the UV-resistant material handles sun exposure without yellowing or losing opacity. The unit addresses the core problem: protecting sensitive electronics from dust, dirt, and weather while remaining accessible for service and configuration. Lockable hinged door with draw-down latch keeps unauthorized hands out; removable door design allows full panel access during installation or troubleshooting.
Compatibility
The EP181604-T accommodates up to 7 doors (reader modules, strike relays, or auxiliary outputs) inside its enclosure footprint — compatible with standard access control panel architectures and modular reader systems. Mounting uses brass threaded inserts for secure inner panel attachment, supporting most OEM sub-panel formats. The enclosure pairs with fire alarm control panels, commercial access systems, and facility management equipment requiring physical protection and weatherproofing in non-temperature-controlled environments (lobbies, external equipment cabinets, loading dock areas). Mounting panels are available separately for rapid installation.
Installation Notes
Unit ships with opaque polycarbonate hinged door (lockable or screw-down latch options available). UV-resistant construction tolerates direct sunlight without degradation. No cutting or additional fabrication required — bolt to wall studs or sheet metal directly. Soft rounded edges eliminate sharp contact points. Optional accessories include thermostat-controlled heater, A/C with heat, pressure compensation vents, filter fans, and drain vent — all sourced through the manufacturer. Made in the U.S.A. Three-year manufacturer warranty covers polycarbonate breakage in normal use (one year on any electromechanical or electronic components if ordered with heating/cooling options).
