STI EF080604-O Credential Reader Housing
Overview
The EF080604-O is an injection-molded polycarbonate housing built to integrate credential readers into multi-door access control systems. Finished in RAL 7035 grey, this opaque enclosure supports up to 7 doors on a single TCP/IP network and delivers 44dB audio output — quiet enough not to startle building occupants on frequent access events. Rated UL/cUL 6 (EP242410-O), it fits standard corporate, institutional, and commercial deployments where credential-based entry is managed centrally across multiple zones.
Compatibility
The EF080604-O works with enterprise access control systems using TCP/IP communication protocols. Its multi-door architecture supports installations where a single reader must control entry across up to 7 separate access points — typical in office suites, lab buildings, or warehouse loading areas. If your system requires per-reader network addressing and centralized credential validation, this housing is compatible with controller platforms that support networked credential readers; verify your specific access control panel or management software supports the TCP/IP interface before deployment.
Installation Notes
The polycarbonate construction requires care during conduit installation to prevent enclosure damage. Cut holes at desired locations using appropriate tooling (Greenlee cutter preferred, positioned inside the enclosure). For metallic conduit: secure connector (hub) to conduit, then locknut into the prepared hole, then attach grounding bushing with proper ground-wire lug. For non-metallic conduit: secure conduit before or after hub insertion using the locknut. Conduit must be aligned to prevent stress on enclosure walls. In Canada, bonding between grounding bushings and the equipment grounding terminal (if provided) is required per electrical code. No separate power specification is listed in evidence — confirm voltage and current draw requirements with your access control panel manufacturer before wiring.
