Overview
The STI-9637 is a 26.75-inch-diameter wire guard enclosure that protects wall-mounted clocks and bells from accidental or intentional impact damage in institutional and commercial spaces. This damage stopper fits clocks and bells with a maximum internal diameter of 24 inches and 3.65 inches of depth — dimensions that cover standard institutional timepieces and bell assemblies. The guard mounts directly to the wall using four lag bolts or tamperproof fasteners (sold separately as KIT-82), positioning the protective wire cage 1.85 inches from the wall surface to create a buffer zone around the protected object.
Compatibility
The STI-9637 works with wall-mounted clock and bell installations in schools, facilities management, and industrial environments where impact resistance is required. The design accommodates objects with a maximum outside width of 26.75 inches and an internal depth of 3.65 inches — standard for most institutional clocks and audible alarm bells. If you have a smaller clock or bell assembly, the STI-9635 (12-inch diameter) or STI-9636 (18-inch diameter) variants offer appropriately sized alternatives within the same product line.
Installation Notes
Mount the wire guard by centering it over the existing clock or bell, locating the four mounting clamps around the perimeter, and drilling four 3/16-inch (5mm) anchor holes. Four mounting screws are provided. For lag bolt installations, ensure anchors are flush with the surface and select bolt length to guarantee full thread engagement. Tamperproof fastener kits (KIT-82, with stainless steel screws and bit) are available separately if your facility requires vandal-resistant hardware. The guard's 75-degree design allows unobstructed visibility of clock faces or bell housings while maintaining perimeter protection.
