Overview
The STI-6520-S is a molded polycarbonate cover designed to shield biometric and keypad identification readers from physical damage and environmental exposure. Finished in smoke color, this hinged housing protects fingerprint scanners, multi-credential readers, and access control keypads mounted on building exteriors or high-traffic indoor locations. The cover mounts directly over reader surfaces with stainless steel torsion spring hinges that hold the cover closed until opened for credential presentation. Install time is minimal — mounting hardware and gasket included. This accessory is backed by a three-year manufacturer guarantee against polycarbonate breakage in normal use.
Compatibility
The STI-6520-S accommodates STI biometric readers and keypads, including fingerprint scanners and combination biometric/keypad units. Installation Notes

Replace the gasket every five years to maintain weather sealing. The torsion hinge requires no adjustment under normal use — the spring tension is fixed. Do not force the cover open if it sticks; instead, inspect the gasket for debris or ice and clear as needed.
