STI UB-2 2" Universal Button
Overview
The STI UB-2 is a 2-inch universal push-button designed as an electromechanical control point in 30VDC door access systems. It provides straightforward button-actuated triggering for magnetic lock strikes and relay-based door control, making it a compact, standardized component for retrofit and new-build installations where space constraints or integration simplicity drives the selection. The UB-2 fits systems requiring a hardwired, non-networked entry point — no card reader, no biometric, just a press-to-unlock mechanism.
Compatibility
The UB-2 integrates into 30VDC access control architectures using standard relay and strike wiring. It is compatible with magnetic lock strike systems and control panels that support fail-safe or fail-secure modes via the LT-1 controller (sold separately). Wiring diagrams in the product documentation show pairing with LT-1PCB logic modules for latch-timer and reset functionality. The button operates with 12–24 VAC/VDC auxiliary power on the control relay circuit, allowing flexible integration into existing door control infrastructure. Suitable for use alongside access readers, keypads, and other 30VDC control devices in the same panel layout.
Installation Notes
Installation requires #6-32 x 5/16" Phillips pan-head screws for case assembly. The button case accommodates two contact sets (NC, NO/COM) and optional LED messaging and door-lock status displays via separate wiring looms. Installers must comply with NFPA 70, NEC, and applicable local electrical codes. The product is not a substitute for panic hardware and must be integrated into a complete access control system with proper fail-safe and fail-secure logic. Wiring diagrams (fail-safe and fail-secure modes) are provided in the LT-1 installation manual; traces should be soldered using appropriate holes to avoid inadvertent circuit cuts.
