STI UB-2-LTUL 2-Inch Universal Button with Latching Timer
Overview
The STI UB-2-LTUL is a 2-inch push-button actuator designed to trigger magnetic lock strikes via wired latching timer relay logic. It operates on 12–24 VAC/VDC input and integrates into hardwired access control circuits where manual door request or emergency egress activation is required. The latching timer module (LT-1 PCB) controls dwell time and fail-safe or fail-secure lock behavior, making it a straightforward wired alternative to electronic credentials or proximity readers for locations where a simple, reliable push-to-exit or push-to-request interface is the right fit.
Compatibility
Works with standard magnetic lock strikes rated for 30VDC operation. Integrates with the LT-1 latching timer PCB (included or optional depending on configuration) to manage relay logic, contact sets, and lock energization timing. Compatible with hardwired door control systems and access control panels that support 12–24 VAC/VDC relay outputs. Can be configured for fail-safe mode (spring-return to unlock on power loss) or fail-secure mode (energized lock, de-energize to unlock). Accepts optional auxiliary components such as message LED modules and reset switches mounted to the case base.
Installation Notes
Mount using two #6–32 × 5/16" Phillips pan-head screws supplied in the package. Wiring follows standard relay contact logic: connect 12–24 VAC/VDC across input terminals, route trigger contact set (SET 1) to lock relay coil, and implement SET 2 contacts for auxiliary signaling or timer reset if required. Fail-safe and fail-secure modes are jumper-selectable on the LT-1 PCB—verify jumper position during commissioning. Installer must comply with NFPA 70, 72 M&S 101, NEC, and local ADA mounting specifications. Do not use this product as a substitute for panic hardware on life-safety doors.
