Speco Technologies ACSR62L Mullion Keypad & Smart Card Reader
Overview
The ACSR62L is a dual-technology access reader designed for perimeter and checkpoint control where weather exposure and multi-credential support are mandatory. It combines contactless smartcard (13.56 MHz) and Bluetooth Low Energy (2.4 GHz) authentication in a single IP67-rated mullion-mount form factor. The 15-foot mobile credential read range extends smartphone-based access to gate houses, utility gates, and outdoor secure entries without requiring cardholder proximity. Integrated keypad and four-state LED feedback (red, green, amber, off) plus audio beeper provide clear authentication status across noisy outdoor environments.
Compatibility
The ACSR62L outputs Wiegand 26-bit format, the industry standard for access control panels and readers. It integrates with existing Honeywell NetAXS systems, Lenel OnGuard, SALTO, and any third-party panel accepting Wiegand protocol over dry-contact closure. Supports MIFARE Classic, DESFire, UltraLight, Plus, FIPS 201 PIV Type A, TWIC, CAC, and Conekt Mobile Access credentials — interoperability across card-based and mobile-first environments. No VMS or NVR integration required; this is a standalone access control device feeding standard access panels.
Installation Notes
Operates on +8 to –14 VDC input (12 VDC nominal), drawing 60 mA typical, 250 mA peak — within the power budget of most access control panel auxiliary outputs or a dedicated 12 VDC supply. Mullion-mount design (1.78″ W × 6.1″ H × 0.91″ D) fits standard 1.25″ and 1.5″ mullion profiles on glass entry doors. Potted epoxy construction rated IP67 handles direct rain, dust, and outdoor temperature extremes from –31°F to 150°F. No separate housing or weatherproof junction box required for outdoor gate and checkpoint installations. Wiegand output requires standard two-pair shielded cable (supplied separately) run to the access panel 26-bit input.
