Overview
The Speco ACKIT2DR is a complete two-door access control solution built on the A2E4P controller — a quad-core embedded Linux system designed for small to medium deployments that need dual egress/ingress control without the complexity of a distributed system. This kit bundles the controller, two Wiegand readers (one per door), integrated lock relay management, and auxiliary I/O in a single 14.25×14.25×3.75 inch enclosure. Deploy it in office lobbies, data center server rooms, or secure facilities where you need immediate two-door control and the option to expand to four doors later via an optional A2M expansion board.
Compatibility
The A2E4P works with standard 125 kHz Wiegand readers (card and proximity badge systems). The kit supplies four Wiegand inputs total (two per door for in/out flows), each capable of handling a 1000 mA system maximum. Lock control outputs are Form C relays rated 24V @ 2.0A per door — compatible with standard electric strikes, magnetic locks, and electric latch retraction units. Door position sensing (DPS) and request-to-exit (REX) inputs accept dry contact switches. Future expansion requires a Speco A2M expansion board (sold separately) to reach four doors; the A2E4P cannot exceed two doors without it.
Installation Notes
The enclosure provides selectable 12V or 24V DC output from an integrated lock power supply: 375 mA @ 24V or 700 mA @ 12V — size your locks and readers accordingly. Input power is 115V AC @ 1.5A; standby mode with battery backup (battery not included) draws 450 mA @ 12V. Operating temperature range is 50°F to 95°F (10°C to 35°C) — confirm your install location stays in this band or consider thermal management. The unit is ETL-listed per UL-294 for access control systems. Wire Wiegand readers to their dedicated ports; REX switches and DPS contacts to their assigned inputs; relay outputs to strike and auxiliary loads. Maximum 300 mA per reader @ 12V.
