Overview
The A8P is an 8-door access control panel that consolidates access management and integrated power distribution in a wall-mounted enclosure. Built around two 4-door modules that function independently or as client/server pairs, the A8P solves the installation complexity problem on multi-entry deployments — one panel replaces what would otherwise be two A2E4P units. The integrated 150-watt power supply handles controller, readers, and all eight door locks without requiring external power distribution. Operating on embedded Linux with >60 transactions per second throughput, the A8P fits multi-entry office buildings, manufacturing facilities, educational institutions, healthcare secured zones, and data center access infrastructure.
Compatibility
The A8P supports 16 Wiegand readers (one input and one output per door). Lock power outputs are selectable per port — 12VDC at 700mA or 24VDC at 400mA (4 outputs per module, 8 total). Fire drop input, door position status inputs, request-to-exit (REX) inputs, and auxiliary inputs are provided for each of the 8 doors. Network connectivity requires two TCIP connections and RJ485; Ethernet IP addresses are assigned one per module. Door strikes, electronic locks, and access control readers operating at standard 12V or 24V specifications integrate directly. The panel is compatible with battery backup systems (two batteries recommended; not included).
Installation Notes
Wall-mounted enclosure measures 14.75" W × 14.75" H × 7" D. The wedge-design open enclosure with removable lid and disconnect pins allows fast access to internal wiring and hardware. Mounting bar includes tie-down slots on both sides for wire management and dual-sided strapping support. Cut-back housing design reduces obstructions during initial wiring runs. Power requirements are 115VAC standard wall outlet with 5-foot IEC cord included. Operating temperature range is 50°F to 95°F (10°C to 35°C). Eight auto-resetting fused outputs protect all door lock circuits; isolated power supplies reader and controller inputs independently. UL 294 certification confirms compliance for access control fire drop and auxiliary inputs.
