Overview

The CNFE1004SAC1A-M is a 10/100 Mbps electrical-to-optical media converter that bridges standard Ethernet copper to single-mode fiber. It accepts RJ45 input and converts to 100 Mbps optical output via SC connectors, supporting surveillance networks that need to span distances up to 20 km (12 miles) without repeaters. Compact form factor (3.3 × 2.5 × 1.1 inches) fits DIN rail, wall mount, or equipment shelves. Auto-negotiation on the electrical port handles 10 or 100 Mbps full or half duplex; no manual configuration required. Dual power input (AC 22–27 VAC or DC 8–24 VDC) with included DC supply allows flexible deployment in remote shelters, pole-mounted cabinets, or standard rack environments.

Compatibility

Works with any Ethernet surveillance device (IP cameras, NVRs, managed switches) that outputs standard 10/100 BASE-T over RJ45. Connect the electrical port to your camera, recorder, or network switch; fiber runs to a matching single-mode converter at the distant end. Transparent to layer-2 and layer-3 protocols—compatible with ONVIF, Milestone, AXIS Camera Station, and other standards-based VMS platforms. Automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover means you don't need a crossover cable; straight-through Cat5e/Cat6 works in either direction.

Operating range: −40°C to +75°C, rated for harsh outdoor or utility enclosures. Power consumption is only 3W, so a 24 VDC battery backup or solar system won't be strained. SC connectors require standard single-mode patch cords (not included); verify fiber type with your installer—this model is single-mode only (not multimode). Transient protection on power and signal lines safeguards against voltage spikes common in long fiber runs near power infrastructure. MTBF exceeds 100,000 hours; no field optical adjustments or tuning needed (plug-and-play).
