Overview
The WV-RD5500-CS pairs a 60GHz millimeter-wave radar with a 1920×1080 built-in camera to deliver wide-area perimeter detection immune to weather, shadows, and animals. The radar scans 180° horizontally, detecting humans out to 70m (230 ft) and vehicles to 100m (328 ft), while reporting position, speed, direction, and object classification at 5 Hz refresh. This hybrid approach eliminates nuisance alerts that plague pure video analytics—critical for shipping yards, fence lines, and critical perimeters where false alarms disrupt operations and security response. The WV-RD5500-CS is NDAA and TAA compliant, FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified, and rated for heavy salt-air environments (ISO 14993).
Compatibility
Integrates with up to 4 i-PRO PTZ cameras for automated radar-triggered tracking—detections drive pan-tilt-zoom positioning without manual preset coordination. Full ONVIF Profile S support enables integration with third-party VMS platforms, recording systems, and edge analytics servers. Radar and camera streams share the same wired LAN; no proprietary gateway or server required. Up to 6 WV-RD5500-CS units operate on the same network with automatic frequency coordination to avoid mutual interference—wired LAN connection is mandatory for synchronization; wireless or internet-routed links will not function.
Installation Notes
Mount via wall, pole, or rack bracket. Depression angle adjusts 0° to 35° to tune horizontal coverage to site topology. Minimum object separation is 3m (9.84 ft)—closer targets blur together in classification. Operating range spans -40°C to +60°C (-40°F to +140°F); IP66 and IK10 ratings withstand continuous spray and vandal impact. Power draw is PoE+ (802.3at); verify your switch supplies sufficient budget. Frequency operates 61.01–61.49 GHz with RF transmission under 100mW. Non-interference radius requires 250m clearance from other 60GHz devices.
