i-PRO WV-RD5500-C 60GHz Radar with Integrated Camera
Overview
The i-PRO WV-RD5500-C is a 60GHz millimeter-wave radar paired with a 1920×1080 (2MP) built-in camera for wide-area perimeter and parking detection. The radar detects moving humans to 70m (230 ft) and vehicles to 100m (328 ft) across a 180° horizontal field, reporting position, speed, direction, and type (human/vehicle/unknown) at 5 Hz refresh rate. The integrated 2MP camera serves as a visual alignment reference during installation and real-time verification anchor for radar detections — this pairing cuts false alarms from weather, shadows, and vegetation motion. Rated IP66 (dust and water-jet proof) and IK10 (vandal-resistant), the WV-RD5500-C is built for outdoor parking structures, perimeter fencing, loading docks, and open-area surveillance where environmental exposure and weathering are routine. PoE+ (802.3at) eliminates separate 24V power supplies; operating range -40°C to +60°C handles arctic and desert extremes without degradation.
Compatibility
Integrates with i-PRO PTZ camera families via ONVIF Profile S, M, G, and T. Up to 4 edge-AI PTZ cameras can link to the radar for automated target tracking without a separate server — radar detects and classifies objects, PTZ cameras follow in real-time. Supports H.265, H.264, and MJPEG compression for compatibility with legacy and modern VMS platforms. Radar detection data (position, speed, direction, classification) streams as structured metadata via ONVIF for rule-based alerting in third-party management systems. Built-in audio input (line level or microphone) and microphone support bidirectional communication over IP. NDAA and TAA compliant; FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified with NXP EdgeLock SE052F SecureElement for encryption and secure boot.
Installation Notes
Mount on wall, pole, or rack using standard brackets; depression angle adjustable 0° to 35° to tune detection coverage to site topography and minimize false triggers from moving foliage or terrain variations. Requires wired Ethernet for both radar data and camera video — single PoE+ port supplies power and connectivity. Up to 6 radar units can operate on the same wired LAN network with built-in radio interference avoidance; non-interference minimum radius is 250m (820 ft). Minimum spatial differentiation between targets is 3m (9.84 ft); speed accuracy ±1 km/h, distance accuracy 0.46m (1.5 ft), angle accuracy 1.7°. Detection performance varies with installation environment (clutter, target size, surface reflectivity); field validation is essential before final commissioning.
