SDC 923P Narrow Keypad+Prox Reader
Overview
The SDC 923P is a self-contained access reader that combines a 12-key illuminated keypad with integrated HID proximity capability in a narrow 1¾-inch-wide form factor. This dual-credential design solves the common integration challenge: you need both card and PIN authentication without consuming multiple mounting spaces on a narrow door frame, stile, or wall-mounted installation. The 923P handles up to 500 user profiles and operates at 30VDC, making it compatible with standard enterprise access control wiring and power budgets.
Compatibility
The 923P integrates with OSDP-compliant access control systems and supports HID credential format. It is designed for enterprise door access platforms that accept standalone keypads and proximity readers wired via 6-inch pigtail connections. Verify your access control panel or gateway supports OSDP protocol and can manage independent relay outputs before deployment. The unit is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, though environmental exposure limits apply (see below).
Installation Notes
Operating temperature range is -4°F to +140°F (-20°C to +60°C) and humidity tolerance is 5% to 95% non-condensing. The die-cast metal housing with black powder coat finish is weather and vandal resistant, but is not submersion-rated — avoid direct spraying or pooled water. The unit draws 30mA typical and 150mA maximum at 30VDC; verify your power supply has sufficient capacity for the panel's total relay loads (Relay 1 rated 5A @ 30VDC, Relay 2 rated 2A @ 30VDC, Outputs 3 & 4 rated 100mA @ 30VDC each). Wiring is a 6-inch pigtail; plan conduit and termination accordingly. Code length accepts 1 to 6 digit PINs. Dimensions are 1¾ inches wide, 7½ inches tall, 1¾ inches deep, with 1½ inches wall projection; confirm clearance on narrow stiles or recessed mounting scenarios.
