SDC 920PW Digital Keypad with Integrated Proximity Reader
Overview
The SDC 920PW is a dual-function proximity and keypad reader that combines card/fob detection with PIN entry on a single device. It outputs 26-bit Wiegand, the industry standard protocol for integration into existing access control panels and controllers. The 920PW supports up to 500 user profiles and accepts 1–6 digit codes, making it suitable for indoor/outdoor deployments where you need both proximity authentication and manual code entry without running separate reader lines.
Compatibility
The 920PW integrates with any access control system that accepts HID proximity credentials and Wiegand input—standard on most commercial panels (Honeywell, Salto, Tyco, Lenel, and equivalent enterprise controllers). The reader is designed for retrofit and new builds alike, eliminating the need for two separate devices when dual authentication is required. Verify your panel's Wiegand input specification (26-bit standard) before deployment.
Installation Notes
The 920PW features cast-metal blue backlit keys and a heavy cast vandal-resistant housing rated for both indoor and outdoor mounting. Wiegand wiring is straightforward—typically four conductors (Data 0, Data 1, ground, and power) to your panel. Confirm your facility's power budget and Wiegand cable routing before installation; distance from reader to panel should not exceed 500 feet on standard twisted-pair cable without signal conditioning. Mount the reader at or above standard door-handle height (48–60 inches) for ergonomic code entry and comfortable proximity card presentation.
