SDC MS-19 Mortise Lock Monitoring Strike
Overview
The SDC MS-19 is a mortise-mounted monitoring strike designed to retrofit Schlage L4 deadbolts and compatible mortise locks with real-time door status feedback. It uses a Single-Pole, Double-Throw (SPDT) contact to report deadbolt position — locked or unlocked — back to an access control panel or door management system. Deploy this where you need confirmation that a deadbolt has physically engaged, without replacing the entire lock assembly. The 30VDC, 5-amp rating handles standard electromagnetic strike duty in commercial and institutional multi-door access control environments.
Compatibility
The MS-19 is compatible with Schlage L400, Best 48H, Corbin Russwin DL4100, Sargent 4870, and Yale 350 mortise deadlocks. It supports multi-door deployments and integrates with OSDP and TCP/IP-based access control systems that accept SPDT monitoring inputs. Verify your mortise lock model against this list before ordering — the strike must match the lock's mechanical profile for correct installation.
Installation Notes
Dimensions are 3½" wide by 1 15/16" tall with a minimum depth of 1¾". The strike requires 30VDC power and a two-wire SPDT contact loop back to the panel or relay module. Ensure your power supply and control wiring can handle 5 amps at 30VDC — undersized wire or a marginal power budget will cause dropout or monitoring failures. Mount the strike into the door frame mortise pocket using the mounting hardware supplied by the lock manufacturer. Test the contact closure before final commissioning to confirm the panel receives lock-open and lock-closed state transitions.
