Overview
The SDC 602RFA is a 1 amp regulated DC power controller designed to centralize power delivery for multi-door access control installations. It outputs 12 or 24 VDC (field selectable) with regulated, filtered linear power — meaning stable voltage without the ripple and noise that degrades reader performance or causes nuisance lock actuations. The 602RFA fits a 16" × 14" × 6½" cabinet and weighs 20 lbs, making it suitable for wall or rack mounting in electrical rooms or equipment closets where you're managing power for 4–8 doors per supply unit. The 1 amp output is the constraint: at 24VDC, you can safely deliver ~24W total — enough for a strike lock, a few proximity readers, and sensor circuits, but not enough to run multiple solenoids simultaneously. Budget 6–10W per door (lock + reader + sense line) and size accordingly.
Compatibility
The 602RFA is a companion power supply for SDC access control systems and compatible with SDC multi-door controllers. It integrates with systems supporting proximity readers (125 kHz, 13.56 MHz NFC/DESFire/MIFARE credentials). The unit includes an isolated battery charging circuit (13.5/27 VDC at 250 mA) for backup power conditioning, a feature essential when your access control application requires UPS-backed door strikes during power loss. Fire/emergency release input is built-in; optional manual reset switch is available. Optional add-on boards (sold separately) include relay modules (CR, UR1, UR2, UR4), IP door controllers (IPDC, IPDS), and auxiliary circuit boards (VR, ACM, EMC, FB) to match your specific strike types and sensor configuration.
Installation Notes
Input is standard 115 VAC at 800 mA, 50/60 Hz — a single dedicated 15A circuit is adequate for the 602RFA alone. Output surge protection (both input and output) is internal; no external protection module required. Visual LED status indicator confirms regulated power is active. Cabinet is 16-gauge steel. Optional accessories include a 6-foot power cord (PC), key-lock cover (KL), and power on/off switches (PS1/PS1A). Select your voltage (12 or 24 VDC) during installation via field jumper or DIP switch — consult the wiring diagram for exact procedure.
