Overview

The Middle Atlantic QFP-2 is a 3U rack-mount fan panel that moves 100 CFM of airflow using two quiet fans with integrated grills — purpose-built for AV equipment racks, security NVR enclosures, and any 19-inch rack where heat buildup threatens uptime without the noise penalty of high-speed industrial blowers. The QFP-2 runs on 120 VAC and mounts in a standard 3-space (3U) rack opening. At 2 inches deep and 19 inches wide, it fits flush in full-depth rack enclosures without stealing usable equipment space. The black brushed and anodized finish matches Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and panels consistently.

Compatibility

The QFP-2 fits any standard 19-inch EIA rack with at least 3U of open space available. It is designed for Middle Atlantic rack enclosures including the BGR, BGRT, ERK, and WRK series, as well as Middle Atlantic's residential and commercial AV rack lines that accept 19-inch standard panel components. The 120 VAC power requirement means a standard North American unswitched outlet or switched rack power strip is all that's needed — no DC power conversion, no external driver. Not rated for international use (120 VAC only; no 230 VAC variant).

Installation Notes

The QFP-2 occupies 3U (5.25 inches of vertical space) and extends 2 inches behind the rack rail — verify rear clearance before installing in shallow-depth enclosures. Two mounting points secure the panel to the rack rails using standard rack screws. Orient airflow direction to match your rack's thermal strategy: typically draw cool air in from the front and exhaust from the rear or top. Because this is an active AC-powered component, route the power cord to a protected outlet before closing the rack door. Shipping weight is 4 lbs — wall-mount or floor-standing racks with a full equipment load should have no structural concern.
