Overview

The QM2-2P10G1TB is a PCIe Gen3 x8 expansion card that simultaneously adds two M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots and a single-port 10GbE network interface to a compatible QNAP NAS. A single card handles both storage acceleration and high-bandwidth networking — eliminating the need for a dedicated 10GbE switch adapter in builds where the NAS is the bottleneck. The primary use case is SSD caching or caching pools via QTS/QuTS hero, where the M.2 drives absorb random I/O from spinning disks and the AQC113C 10GbE port keeps throughput from collapsing back to the 1GbE bottleneck. This matters on NAS deployments serving simultaneous 4K streams, video editing workloads, or high-transaction surveillance recording scenarios. The QM2-2P10G1TB supports NBASE-T (1G/2.5G/5G/10G) auto-negotiation on the AQC113C controller, so it will step down to 2.5GbE or 5GbE if your switch doesn't support full 10GbE — no manual configuration needed. M.2 slots accept 2280 form-factor NVMe drives only; SATA M.2 drives are not supported. Installation Notes

Installation requires powering down the NAS and seating the card in an available PCIe Gen3 x8 slot — the card will not function in a x4 or shorter physical slot. M.2 NVMe drives must be sourced separately; the QM2-2P10G1TB ships without SSDs installed. After seating, QTS/QuTS hero auto-detects both the NVMe slots and the 10GbE interface — no driver installation is required on supported QNAP firmware.
