Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP8706S-NAX809 Locking C13 to C14 Power Cord Kit

Overview

The AP8706S-NAX809 is a six-cord kit of 1.8-meter locking C13-to-C14 power cords designed for North American rack deployments where accidental disconnection is a real operational risk. Each cord uses a locking C13 connector that clicks and secures into a C14 inlet — preventing unintentional pull-out on high-density PDU installations where cable congestion makes a loose connection easy to miss and costly to discover mid-shift. Buying as a kit rather than individual cords simplifies procurement for rack builds and reduces per-unit cost on multi-device deployments.

Compatibility

Designed to work with APC rack PDUs and other equipment using standard IEC 60320 C14 inlets — including APC Metered, Switched, and Basic rack PDUs across the AP78xx, AP79xx, and AP86xx series. The locking C13 connector is compatible with any compliant C14 inlet regardless of brand, making these cords suitable for mixed-vendor racks where server PSUs, KVM switches, or network equipment expose C14 inlets. Verify your PDU's input voltage and amperage rating against the cord's rated capacity before deploying in high-draw environments.

Installation Notes

To engage the locking mechanism, insert the C13 connector fully into the C14 inlet and rotate or press the locking collar until it seats — confirm engagement by applying a gentle tug before closing the rack door. To release, depress the locking tab before pulling. Cord length is 1.8M (approximately 6 feet); confirm rack unit spacing allows this run without sharp bends near the connector boot, which can stress the locking collar over time. These cords are rated for North American voltage standards — confirm compatibility before use in 240V single-phase environments.
