Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP8706S-NAX340 Locking Power Cord

Overview

The APC AP8706S-NAX340 is a 1.8-meter locking power cord designed to prevent accidental disconnection of critical IT equipment from rack-mounted PDUs or UPS systems. Its red color aids in quick identification and management within a dense rack environment, ensuring that essential devices remain powered without interruption. This cord is suitable for environments where reliable power delivery is paramount, such as server rooms or network closets.

Compatibility

This cord features a standard IEC C13 female connector on one end, designed to mate with IEC C14 male inlets found on most server power supplies, network switches, and other IT hardware. The other end is an IEC C14 male plug, which connects to a standard IEC C13 outlet on a power distribution unit (PDU) or UPS. It is compatible with any equipment requiring a C13 power input and any PDU or UPS with a C14 power output. The locking mechanism ensures a secure connection, preventing the cord from being pulled out during routine maintenance or vibrations.

Installation Notes

The operating temperature range for this cable is 0 to 105 °C, with a storage temperature range of -25 to 105 °C. The operating relative humidity range is 20% to 80% non-condensing. The connectors are straight-style IEC 60320 C13 (female) and C14 (male) couplers, providing a standard, secure connection. The cable length is 1.8 meters (approximately 6 feet).
