Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP8706S-NAX648 Locking C13-to-C14 Power Cord Kit

Overview

The AP8706S-NAX648 is a factory-packaged kit of six locking IEC 60320 C13-to-C14 power cords, each 3.0 meters in length, designed for structured rack deployments where accidental disconnection is a real operational risk. The C14 male plug seats into a PDU outlet; the C13 female end connects to the device inlet — the standard pairing for servers, network switches, UPS units, and rack-mounted AV or security appliances. The locking collar on the C13 connector engages the outlet's retention clip, requiring a deliberate release action before the cord pulls free. In high-density racks with frequent human traffic or vibration, that mechanical retention is the difference between a planned maintenance window and an unplanned outage. Buying in a six-pack keeps spare cords on hand without sourcing individual units each time a device is added or relocated.

Compatibility

Fits any IEC 60320 C14 inlet — a near-universal standard across APC Smart-UPS and Symmetra UPS output receptacles, APC rack PDU outlets (AP7xxx, AP8xxx series), and server/switch C13 device inlets from Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Cisco, and similar platforms. The locking C13 connector is specifically compatible with APC PDU outlets that include a C13 locking retention clip; standard non-locking C14 inlets accept the cord but will not engage the lock. Verify your PDU model supports C13 locking retention before specifying this kit if cord retention is the primary requirement. The 3.0M length suits most mid-depth and full-depth rack environments where PDU-to-device routing requires slack for cable management arms.
