The PB-100 is a polling and diagnostics kit designed for technicians commissioning or maintaining Viking ADA-compliant emergency phones. It connects a PC to Viking ADA phone installations via a 9-pin RS-232 serial port or USB, allowing you to poll device status and run diagnostics without standing at each phone location — a practical time-saver on large multi-phone deployments such as elevator banks, parking structures, or campus emergency call networks. The kit runs on 120V AC with a 12V DC 500mA output and measures 5" x 5" x 1.5" (127mm x 127mm x 25mm) at 3 lbs. (1.36 kg), making it bench- or rack-adjacent portable.
The PB-100 is designed for use with Viking Electronics ADA emergency phone products. It is intended for integration into emergency phone systems where PC-based polling and remote diagnostics are required. Verify compatibility against your specific Viking ADA phone model before ordering — not all Viking phone families support the RS-232/USB polling protocol. The PC interface requires a 9-pin RS-232 serial port or USB port; on modern laptops without native RS-232, a USB-to-RS-232 adapter is required (not included). For guidance on pairing diagnostic tools with your broader access control and life-safety infrastructure, consult your system documentation.
Operating environment is restricted to 32°F–90°F (0°C to 32°C) with 5%–95% non-condensing humidity — this is an indoor, conditioned-space tool, not rated for outdoor or unconditioned mechanical rooms. Power input is 120V AC; ensure a standard grounded outlet is available at the diagnostic workstation. For large-campus network infrastructure deployments, plan your diagnostic workflow around this temperature ceiling if equipment rooms run warm.
