PB-1 draws operating power directly from the telephone line — requiring a minimum 24V DC talk battery and 20mA loop current — making it a straightforward fit for any standard analog POTS loop. It stores up to 16 seconds of voice memory for a pre-recorded emergency announcement and can dial up to five emergency numbers plus two central station numbers, covering monitored alarm center workflows alongside direct emergency dispatch. Automatic Noise Canceling (ANC) keeps audio intelligible in mechanically noisy environments like loading docks, utility rooms, or industrial corridors. Surface-mount installation and gel-filled butt splice connections keep the wiring side simple on retrofit and new-construction runs alike. At 5.75" x 3.08" x 1.05", it fits a single-gang wall box footprint. Compatibility

The PB-1 works on any analog telephone loop meeting the minimum electrical requirements: 24V DC talk battery and 20mA loop current. It is compatible with standard POTS-based telephone systems and analog central station reporting formats including Ademco Contact I.D., Ademco High Speed, and DTMF 4+1 Express signaling. It is not designed for VoIP or IP network infrastructure — for those environments, Viking's VoIP Emergency Phone Panic Button variant (RJ45 10/100 Base-T) is the correct platform.

Installation Notes

Connections are made via gel-filled butt connectors — no punch-down tool or RJ-11 jack required, which simplifies rough-in in conduit runs.
