Overview

The Middle Atlantic P4AC20 is a surface-mount, plug-in power distribution unit that adds four AC outlets plus USB charging — including a 20W USB-C Power Delivery port — to any rack-adjacent or wall-mounted installation. Deployed where a full rackmount PDU is unnecessary but clean, consolidated power is still required, the P4AC20 suits small equipment closets, AV control surfaces, and security head-end areas where integrators need to power ancillary gear without running additional circuits. The unit ships pre-wired with a 6 ft cord and a built-in surge protector with LED status indicator, so there is nothing to assemble on-site — mount it, plug it in, done.

Compatibility

Designed for use with Middle Atlantic rack and enclosure systems including the Essex, MFEX, and WM-series wall-mount enclosures, as well as any installation requiring surface-mounted supplemental power. The four AC outlets accommodate standard NEMA plugs from access control panels, PoE injectors, small NVRs, and similar power distribution accessories. The USB-A port handles lower-draw device charging; the USB-C port delivers up to 20W Power Delivery — sufficient to charge a laptop or power a compact single-board controller. Single-circuit wiring means all outlets share one breaker path — verify your local circuit load before adding high-draw devices. White finish coordinates with light-colored enclosure interiors.

Installation Notes

Surface-mount only — not intended for standard 1U rackmount brackets. Secure to a flat interior surface using the pre-drilled mounting points. The 6 ft cord reaches a standard wall outlet without extension; do not use with extension cords for permanent installations per NEC guidelines. Surge protection is passive with LED confirmation — if the LED is off after power-up, the surge MOV may have absorbed a transient and the unit should be replaced. Indoor use only; no environmental rating for moisture or dust exposure.
