Description

Panduit F91ELANB1SNM015 OS2 Single-Mode Fiber Optic Patch Cord

The Panduit F91ELANB1SNM015 Opti-Core® patch cord delivers OS2-rated single-mode fiber connectivity between SC APC and LC APC terminations across 15 meters. Built with 9/125µm core geometry and APC (angled physical contact) polishing on both ends, this cable provides the low back-reflection performance required for high-speed Ethernet, storage-area networks, and long-haul telecommunications links. The 1.6 mm LSZH jacket meets EN 60332-1-2 flammability requirements for installation in occupied spaces, cable trays, and plenum pathways where PVC smoke emission is prohibited.

Key Features

  • OS2 9/125µm single-mode fiber for 10G/40G/100G Ethernet and beyond
  • SC APC to LC APC connectors with angled polish for <-60 dB back reflection
  • 15-meter (49.21 ft) length for rack-to-rack or intra-building links
  • 1.6 mm diameter cable for high-density patch-panel routing
  • LSZH yellow jacket meets EN 60332-1-2 fire-safety standards
  • Factory-terminated with standard insertion loss specification
  • Panduit Opti-Core® quality with manufacturer warranty

APC connectors are essential for applications sensitive to optical return loss. The 8-degree end-face angle scatters back-reflected light into the cladding rather than returning it to the source, achieving <-60 dB return loss compared to <-50 dB for standard UPC polish. This matters in DWDM systems, analog RF-over-fiber transport, high-bitrate Ethernet (25G/100G/400G), and any link where laser stability or BER performance is critical. SC and LC form factors are the two most common connector types in enterprise and datacenter environments—SC provides robust simplex latching for premise distribution, while LC offers duplex density for switch and transceiver interfaces. This cord bridges both.

OS2 fiber supports transmission distances far beyond multimode: 10GBASE-LR extends to 10 km, 40GBASE-LR4 reaches 10 km, and 100GBASE-LR4 spans the same distance on a single strand per direction. The 9 µm core and 1,310–1,550 nm wavelength window eliminate modal dispersion, leaving only chromatic dispersion as the distance-limiting factor—negligible across building and campus backbones. The LSZH jacket is mandatory in European installations under CPR (Construction Products Regulation) and increasingly specified in North American projects to meet NFPA 90A plenum requirements or local smoke-toxicity ordinances. The yellow color coding follows TIA-598-C and ISO/IEC 11801 single-mode identification standards, simplifying field tracing and reducing cross-connection errors during MAC work.

This patch cord ships factory-terminated and tested, eliminating the labor and equipment cost of field splicing or mechanical termination. Panduit Opti-Core® cables undergo end-face geometry inspection and insertion-loss verification before leaving the factory, ensuring compliance with IEC 61300-3-35 and TIA-568-C.3 standards. The 1.6 mm diameter allows tight bend radii in congested patch fields while maintaining the 15 mm minimum bend radius required to avoid signal degradation. Standard polarity (transmit pin 1 to receive pin 1) matches the vast majority of Ethernet switch and media-converter wiring. Use this cable for 10GBASE-LR/40GBASE-LR4 switch uplinks, SAN extension between racks, building-backbone connections to IDFs, or any installation where you need OS2-rated performance with APC-grade back-reflection suppression and LSZH fire compliance in a ready-to-deploy assembly.
