The RBK862S-100NAS is a two-unit Orbi AX6000 mesh system packaged with one year of NETGEAR Armor security subscription. This bundle addresses network infrastructure for surveillance and commercial deployments where WiFi 6 throughput and coverage density matter — dual-band AX6000 (573 Mbps + 4,804 Mbps) with seamless roaming across router and satellite. The Armor subscription layer adds threat detection and malware filtering at the gateway, reducing dependency on per-device security agents when deploying mobile or wireless sensors in multi-building operations.

Compatibility

The RBK862S-100NAS is compatible with any WiFi 6 (802.11ax) or legacy 802.11a/b/g/n client device. In surveillance contexts, this includes WiFi 6 wireless cameras, WiFi 6 mobile computers, and enterprise access points. The system operates on 2.4 GHz (backward-compatible with older 802.11n cameras) and 5 GHz bands simultaneously, allowing you to segregate security traffic onto 5 GHz while reserving 2.4 GHz for legacy analog-to-digital bridge hardware. Armor subscription applies to all connected devices — no per-client licensing.

Installation Notes

Position the router unit centrally and the satellite within 30–50 feet for optimal throughput handoff. Both units require AC power (wall outlet); no PoE option available. For surveillance deployments, configure separate SSIDs for security and guest traffic via the Orbi mobile app or web console — this segregation simplifies firewall policies and prevents bandwidth contention between recording streams and user data.
