Description

QNAP QNA-UC10G1T USB 4 Type-C to 10GBASE-T Network Adapter

Overview

The QNA-UC10G1T is a single-port USB 4 Type-C to 10GBASE-T RJ45 network adapter designed to bring 10GbE connectivity to desktops, laptops, and workstations that lack a built-in 10GbE port. If you have a QNAP NAS with a 10GbE port and a host machine that only exposes USB 4 or Thunderbolt — this adapter closes the gap without adding a PCIe card or a managed switch. The adapter measures 124.5 × 56 × 27.27 mm and connects via the included 1-meter USB 4 cable, so the host machine needs nothing beyond an available USB 4 or Thunderbolt 3/4 port.

Compatibility

The QNA-UC10G1T is compatible with host machines running Windows, macOS, and Linux (including Ubuntu). The USB 4 Type-C interface is backward-compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 ports, making it suitable for modern Mac workstations and MacBook Pro/Max systems equipped with Thunderbolt 4, as well as Windows PCs with USB 4 or Thunderbolt 3/4 controllers. On the network side, the RJ45 port supports 10GBASE-T, which connects directly to any 10GbE-capable switch or to a QNAP NAS 10GbE port via a standard Cat6A or Cat7 patch cable — no SFP+ or optical infrastructure required. This adapter is particularly relevant for integrators pairing a QNAP 10GbE NAS with a workstation that has no free PCIe slot or no built-in 10GbE NIC.

Installation Notes

No drivers are required on most platforms — the adapter leverages native OS network stack support on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The included 1-meter USB 4 cable is the only cable needed between the adapter and the host. For 10GBASE-T operation on the RJ45 side, use Cat6A or better cabling to ensure full 10Gbps throughput at runs up to 100 meters; Cat6 supports 10GbE only up to 55 meters in standard deployments. The compact form factor makes it suitable for desk-side or rack-adjacent use without additional mounting hardware. If your deployment involves a high-density 10GbE setup, note this is a single-port device — one adapter per host.
