Description

Viking Electronics LM-1A Message Waiting Indicator Lamp

Overview

The Viking Electronics LM-1A is a plug-in message waiting indicator lamp designed for hotel, motel, and business telephone environments where a visible alert — not just an audible ring — is required at the desk or bedside. Modular RJ11 connections mean the LM-1A drops into an existing line jack in seconds, no rewiring and no telephone technician required. For hospitality and multi-tenant installations where fast, non-disruptive deployment across dozens of rooms is a real operational concern, that matters more than it might seem.

The unit's LED blinks at a steady rate when a message waiting voltage is present on the line, giving guests or staff an unmistakable visual cue that a voicemail or message is waiting — even across a noisy room or through a closed bathroom door.

Key Features

  • 80V DC to 150V DC Message Waiting Voltage Range: Covers the full spread of message waiting voltages used by most modern PBX and telephone systems. If your property management system or phone switch puts out anywhere in that window, the LM-1A will detect and display it without any adjustment required.
  • 40V AC Minimum Ring Voltage Compatibility: Activates on standard ring voltages, so it works alongside the telephone set on the same line without requiring a separate power feed or dedicated circuit.
  • 75 ft Viewing Distance: The LED is visible from across a standard hotel room or office — 75 feet of effective range means even a unit mounted near the phone base remains readable from the far end of a suite or conference space.
  • 110-Degree Viewing Angle: Wide enough that the lamp is visible from beside or slightly behind the unit, not just dead-on. In practice, guests don't have to position themselves in front of the lamp to notice it's blinking.
  • Fully Modular Dual RJ11 Jacks: Two RJ11 connectors — one in, one out — let the LM-1A pass the line through to the telephone set. The phone and the lamp both stay connected; no splitter needed, no interruption to existing equipment.
  • Compact Form Factor (2.56
