Overview
The Lantronix LM80 Local Manager, model 80-8S-NNN-NAA, is designed for centralized management of serial-based devices within an IT infrastructure. It consolidates control of up to eight serial devices through a single network interface, simplifying deployment and maintenance in environments like industrial automation, retail point-of-sale systems, or remote equipment monitoring. The inclusion of three Ethernet ports provides flexible network connectivity options, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into existing network architectures. This unit comes bundled with Lantronix's Local Management Software (LMS), offering a unified platform for configuration and monitoring.
Compatibility
This device is designed to interface with any serial device utilizing RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 communication protocols. Its three 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports ensure compatibility with standard network infrastructure, supporting DHCP, Static IP, and PPPoE configurations. The included LMS software is compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems for management purposes.
Installation Notes
The LM80 requires a standard 100-240V AC power input, with a universal power adapter included. Mounting options include desktop placement or rack mounting using an optional rackmount kit (sold separately). Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating, as operating temperatures range from 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F).
