Description

Lifesafety Power RD150/250-16 Rackmount Power Distribution Enclosure

Overview

The RD150/250-16 is a 2RU rackmount distribution enclosure designed to supply 12VDC or 24VDC to multiple IP cameras, access control readers, and other low-voltage security endpoints from a centralized power supply. Available in 150W (12A @ 12V or 6A @ 24V) and 250W (20A @ 12V or 10A @ 24V) configurations, it consolidates power distribution across 16 outputs into a single rackmount footprint — eliminating point-of-failure individual wall transformers and reducing cable clutter in equipment racks.

Compatibility

The RD150/250-16 pairs with Lifesafety Power rackmount supply modules and accepts fused distribution boards: the R2U Front Board (8 Zone Fused, qty 2 modules) and R2U Rear Board (16 Outputs) for flexible output configuration. The rear board also accommodates RD Faults/FAI/Battery Connections, enabling supervision feedback and battery backup integration in larger installations. Verify your endpoint power draw against the selected voltage and amperage tier before deployment.

Installation Notes

The enclosure mounts in a standard 19-inch equipment rack using 2RU space. Wiring terminals accept standard gauge conductors; consult the installation guide for maximum conductor sizes. Output distribution boards are hot-swappable once live power is de-energized. The fused configuration (Front Board) protects individual zones from overcurrent, reducing risk of a single short circuit affecting all endpoints. Battery backup connections on the rear board support supervised systems requiring failover power during mains loss.
