Description

Lifesafety Power RD150/150-16 Rackmount Dual-Voltage Power Supply

Overview

The RD150/150-16 is a rackmount DC power supply designed to distribute regulated 12VDC and 24VDC to egress locking hardware, card readers, and access control peripherals in commercial buildings. Dual simultaneous outputs—12V@12A and 24V@6A—allow single-unit provisioning of mixed-voltage systems, reducing cabinet complexity. This is standard infrastructure for security integrators handling mid-to-large access control deployments where centralized, supervised power delivery is mandatory.

Compatibility

The RD150/150-16 integrates with any access control system requiring supervised 12VDC or 24VDC distribution. The 16 discrete egress lock outputs are purpose-built for door strike, mag lock, and push-to-exit relay circuits. Compatible with conventional panel-based systems and IP-native access control platforms that accept hardwired DC relay outputs. Verify your access control head-end supports remote power supply supervision and alarm relay feedback before specifying.

Installation Notes

Rackmount form factor requires 1U or 2U vertical space in a 19-inch security cabinet. Both 12V and 24V rails operate simultaneously; configure load distribution across outputs to avoid exceeding per-rail amperage limits (12A on 12V circuit, 6A on 24V circuit). Wire egress lock circuits using shielded twisted-pair or solid copper conductors sized for sustained current draw. Secure output terminals with torque-spec fasteners per manufacturer instructions. Verify cabinet ventilation and ambient temperature remain within operating range to ensure thermal stability during extended alarm or failover operation.
