Overview

The Lenovo 4X97A59984 is a factory-new NVMe cable kit designed for the ThinkSystem SR630 V2 server configured with a 10-drive Anybay backplane. If you're adding NVMe drives to an SR630 V2 or completing a partially cabled chassis, this kit supplies the signal routing between the backplane and the system board — without it, installed NVMe drives simply won't be recognized. The 4X97A59984 is a targeted solution for storage expansion or initial build-out where the NVMe cable run was not included in the base server configuration.

Compatibility

This cable kit is designed specifically for the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR630 V2 server platform equipped with the 10-drive Anybay backplane. The Anybay backplane supports mixed SAS/SATA/NVMe drive populations; this kit addresses the NVMe signal paths specifically. It is not interchangeable with SR630 (Gen 1), SR650, SR650 V2, or other ThinkSystem platforms — backplane pinouts and cable routing differ across generations and form factors.
