The SK-CE-2M-SCM is a ready-to-deploy access control starter kit designed for organizations scaling from single-site to multi-site credential management. It pairs two networked controllers with EntraPass Corporate Edition software—the middleware that handles user provisioning, time-based access rules, and audit logging. Overview

The SK-CE-2M-SCM bundles two multi-technology controller modules, smart card readers compatible with MIFARE and HID standards, proximity and keypad input, and the full EntraPass Corporate software license. The two-controller configuration allows independent or networked operation—deploy both at a single site for redundancy and zone expansion, or stage them across two facilities for distributed credential sync. Wiegand and RS-485 communication paths support standard integration with most commercial electric strikes and networked reader infrastructure.

Compatibility

The SK-CE-2M-SCM operates within the Kantech ecosystem. Two controllers support up to four doors per unit (eight total across the kit) with standard electromagnetic and electromechanical strikes. Multi-technology readers accept 125 kHz proximity cards, MIFARE smart cards (13.56 MHz), NFC credentials, and keypad entry—common across corporate campuses and healthcare badge programs. EntraPass Corporate Edition centralizes administration: create user accounts once, assign time-weighted access rules, and synchronize credential status across both controllers via Ethernet or dial-up failover.

Installation Notes

Each controller requires 12 VDC power supply (included in kit). Wiegand and RS-485 runs should use shielded twisted pair; keep runs under 500 feet for RS-485 without repeaters. Mounting is DIN-rail or surface; verify enclosure climate control if deployed in non-HVAC zones (controllers operate 32–104°F). Multi-technology readers draw 100–200 mA per channel; confirm power supply capacity before adding external reader boards. EntraPass Corporate software requires Windows server (2012 R2 or later); database licensing is included in the starter kit.
