Kantech KT-IP IP Link Module with Self Enclosure
The Kantech KT-IP is an RS-232 to TCP/IP interface that bridges KT-100 and KT-300 door controllers to a TCP/IP network. It reduces cabling complexity and gives Kantech controllers real-time network access and bi-directional communication with EntraPass multi-site gateways and other TCP/IP-compatible devices—without requiring changes to existing network infrastructure or equipment.
Compatibility
The KT-IP pairs directly with Kantech KT-100 and KT-300 door controllers via RS-232 serial connection. It integrates into EntraPass security management software and communicates with TCP/IP protocol-compatible third-party access control applications. Integration is event-driven: the KT-IP only transmits data when an access event occurs, not continuously, which significantly reduces bandwidth overhead on your network.
Installation Notes
Connection is straightforward: the KT-IP accepts 12VDC power input and communicates via RJ-45 Ethernet (10/100Base-T) to your network. The module houses an RS-232 serial port for controller connection and supports 128-bit AES encryption to secure communication between the controller and network applications. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 49°C (32°F to 122°F). Configuration uses EntraPass workstation software, a web browser, or the KT-Finder standalone application—EntraPass typically auto-detects and configures the KT-IP via MAC address, reducing setup overhead. The self-contained enclosure protects internal electronics while housing all network and serial connectors for direct integration into your access control cabinet or wiring closet.
