Overview
The WJ-NX400/4000T4 is a 64-channel rack-mount NVR engineered for large-scale enterprise and industrial surveillance where centralized recording and evidence preservation drive architecture decisions. With 4TB onboard storage and native support for camera resolutions up to 12MP, it processes multi-site monitoring across dozens of simultaneous streams. H.265 compression cuts storage overhead 40–50% versus H.264 on 24/7 recording — a material factor when cost-per-terabyte economics determine whether you add secondary storage or rotate retention windows. Remote access and playback allow security teams to retrieve incident footage across typical network bandwidth constraints in warehouse, retail, and campus environments.
Compatibility
The unit accommodates any ONVIF Profile S–compliant IP camera from any vendor, provided the camera supports H.265 or H.264 encoding and operates on standard IP networks. No vendor lock-in at the camera tier. Scalability is fixed at 64 channels — the unit does not support daisy-chaining or external channel expansion through modular daughter cards. If your deployment exceeds 64 concurrent streams, you must deploy multiple WJ-NX400 units or migrate to a higher-capacity platform.
Installation Notes
The unit requires standard 19-inch rack mounting and AC power supply. Verify firmware compatibility with i-PRO directly if external storage expansion is required — the underlying architecture may or may not support secondary drives depending on firmware revision and hardware configuration. Network connectivity defaults to standard Ethernet; confirm bandwidth provisioning for your camera resolution and frame-rate mix before deployment.
