Description

HPE P48825-B21 DL380 Gen11 8SFF CPU1/2 NVMe Cable Kit

Overview

The P48825-B21 is a factory-new HPE internal cable kit designed specifically for HPE server platforms running NVMe storage in 8-drive small form factor (8SFF) configurations. If you're wiring a DL380 Gen11 for direct NVMe connectivity across CPU1 and CPU2 bifurcation lanes, this kit provides the OEM-correct harness — eliminating the mismatched connector and signal-integrity risks that come with generic or third-party cabling in high-speed PCIe storage paths. NVMe drive performance is sensitive to trace length and connector quality; using the platform-matched HPE cable kit is the right call when throughput and signal reliability matter.

Compatibility

This cable kit is designed for the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 server in 8SFF (Small Form Factor) drive bay configurations. It supports CPU1 and CPU2 NVMe routing simultaneously, making it applicable to dual-socket builds where bifurcated NVMe lanes from both processors need to reach the front drive bays. Verify your DL380 Gen11 chassis bay configuration (8SFF vs. 12LFF vs. 24SFF) before ordering — this kit is specific to the 8SFF backplane layout. Not compatible with Gen10 or earlier DL380 variants, and not a fit for SAS/SATA-only backplane deployments.

Installation Notes

Route this cable kit per HPE's DL380 Gen11 maintenance documentation — NVMe signal cables are routed differently from legacy SAS/SATA harnesses and require correct seating at both the backplane and riser/CPU socket connectors. Ensure the server is fully powered down and grounded before handling. The kit's physical footprint — approximately 43 x 38 x 8 inches packaged — accounts for coiled cable and protective packaging; the installed profile is compact within the chassis. Sourced as a genuine HPE component through US distribution channels with no parallel imports.
