Server components and options cover the internal hardware used to configure, expand, or upgrade rack and tower servers: processors (including multi-socket CPUs for compute-intensive workloads), memory modules (DDR4/DDR5 RDIMMs, LRDIMMs, and NVDIMMs), storage controllers and HBAs, PCIe risers, NIC and HBA cards, GPU and accelerator carrier assemblies, power supply units, fans and thermal modules, and chassis intrusion or management accessories. Most items are platform-specific—verify socket generation, slot count, firmware baseline, and OEM qualification list (QVL or SPH) before ordering, as a mismatched DIMM or unsupported CPU stepping can prevent POST entirely.

Typical buyers include datacenter operators expanding capacity in existing server fleets, HPC and AI teams adding accelerator slots or high-bandwidth memory configurations, and IT administrators replacing failed components to restore uptime without a full system swap. Mixing upgrade generations—for example, adding DDR5 modules to a DDR4 platform, or pairing a PCIe 5.0 HBA with a Gen 4 backplane—will produce compatibility errors, so cross-referencing the server's technical specifications sheet before purchase is essential.
