Overview

The Honeywell 5881ENHC is a wireless receiver module that expands VISTA commercial control panels to support unlimited wireless zones from the 5800-series sensor family. It operates on 345 MHz with full RF supervision of enrolled devices, eliminating the zone limit imposed by hardwired inputs alone. Install this when you need to deploy 5800-series wireless sensors (door contacts, motion detectors, glass breaks) across a facility without running dedicated wiring to every opening — common in retrofit jobs, leased spaces, or facilities where trenching would be prohibitive. The receiver connects to the panel's keypad data bus (4-wire connection), drawing 12VDC power directly from the control panel itself.

Compatibility

The 5881ENHC integrates with these Honeywell VISTA commercial panels: VISTA-15P, VISTA-20P, VISTA-50P, VISTA-128BPT, and VISTA-250BPT. It supports all Honeywell 5800-series wireless sensors — wireless door/window contacts, wireless motion detectors, wireless glass-break detectors, and compatible ancillary devices. It does not work with non-5800-series wireless protocols or third-party RF sensors.

Installation Notes

The 5881ENHC requires a 4-wire keypad data bus connection to the panel — it shares the same communication path as keypads and other bus devices. Power is supplied from the panel's 12VDC source (no separate power supply needed). Operating temperature range is 32°F to 122°F (0°C to 50°C), so avoid installation in unheated outdoor enclosures or direct sunlight on uninsulated walls. Enroll sensors using standard Honeywell 5800-series enrollment procedures on the compatible VISTA panel.
