Description

Honeywell 5817CBXT Commercial 3-Zone Wireless Transmitter

Overview

The 5817CBXT is a universal contact-monitoring transmitter designed to pair with security control panels in fire and burglary alarm installations. It accepts inputs from door/window contacts, motion detectors, glass-break sensors, sprinkler water-flow switches, tamper switches, post indicator valves, and remote duct detectors. Upon activation, it emits an RF signal to your control panel, triggering alarm transmission to a central station. UL-listed for both residential and commercial use, with supervised reporting every four seconds.

Compatibility

The 5817CBXT works with Honeywell commercial fire and burglary control panels that support wireless zone enrollment. Verify your panel model accepts 5817CBXT RF IDs during commissioning before final deployment. The unit requires a compatible control panel receiver to function; it does not operate standalone.

Installation Notes

Mount the transmitter to a wall stud or solid wood material using the supplied mounting plate and screws. For concealed wiring, feed wires through the dedicated entry hole on one corner of the mounting plate. The unit features a back tamper switch (armed when separated from the mounting plate) that can be disabled by breaking away the plate if desired. Configure DIP switches after the control panel has enrolled the transmitter's input IDs. Powered by a single 3V lithium battery; replace when exhausted. Do not mount on drywall alone — structural backing is required to meet installation standards.
